Two more addictions to feed...

They both eat up the hours but are so worth the laughs and hours lost staring at the Plasma...

Thousand Prayers

Last night's watch...a good minimalist film...better than a girl losing her dog with a broke down car...(my Wendy and Lucy slam)..

Terminator Salvation

I was bummed. He made a film that will appeal to a few and piss off a bunch. Look forward to seeing the Director's Cut Blu Ray. There were so many plot holes and dumb mistakes that I am hoping it all gets filled in on a 3 hour cut.

Ben X...My Name Is Lisa - tonight's watch

Wonderfully modern film; the best mix of video game and film since Chumscrubber. The short film My Name Is Lisa that (shorts accompany each of these Film Movement titles) was outstanding, best I had seen in years.

Slew of $5 titles today

Pulled 80 or so titles out of the inventory aisle just now...some great finds including newer ones like Hancock and Last Chance Harvey, some catalogs like Spiderman 2, Butch Cassidy, Assassination of Richard Nixon, Hide & Seek and tons of others...going fast.

Eden Log Blu, Driven to Kill Blu

Tonight's watches...one good sci-fi and one cantankerous old guy still making movies..

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

After watching some serious crap and getting voted down on Amazon from the elitists, I watched some great retro films...enjoy.

Wolverine

Watched it with my boy today...what a piece of junk. He liked it though, bad effects, bad writing, crappy timeline continuity, etc.

Star Trek

Just watched it last night - had a great time, loved it. Come on in and we can compare notes on likes/dislikes.

5 shelf today

Hotel for Dogs, Marley & Me, Bolt - am I the only one getting the dog theme?

Momma's Man to Man on Fire

Started watching this pile of crap - fast forwarded, wrote my rant on Amazon - then watched..

A real film with all the right ingredients...nothing like watching/listening to this soundtrack and visuals on Blu - what it is all about.

Some titles hitting the 5 shelf

Twilight, Bedtime Stories, Desperaux, Chihuahua, W and bunch more. And for the whiners - the LICORICE is back in stock...almost more popular than the movies sometimes...

Just Another Love Story...tonight's watch

WOW - what a great film...review will be up later today. Definite recommendation.

Wendy and Lucy...tonight's watch

What a boring mess. I have noticed all the "intellectual" critics spout paragraphs of societal analysis into how deep and amazing this is - it is just plain crap. The whole movie is for dog fanatics, plain and simple. And even then - the ending is a cop out...what a waste of time.

Wow...just spent more time reading the reviews - definitely hurts to not like this film, anyone who does gets ostracized. Scary stuff..

Dog Soldiers Blu - Skipper

Most of my customers know I am a fan of this film (and especially McKidd - great actor who got his justified exposure with the Rome series)...but this BD release was a train wreck.

In all fairness, I did get an nice email from the producer of the film after I reviewed it on Amazon (not positively), and hopefully someday this fun piece will get a good Blu release.

Winter of Frozen Dreams

This has been tough to stay awake for - but I should have a review up soon...

$5 shelf this week

I will be posting the titles that hit the shelf in real time so customers can take advantage of our popular/awesome pricing (and people have been asking about this for years). Enjoy...

Titles going out right now include Quantum Solace, Changeling, and Gardens of Night (see review at Amazon)

Henry Poole Is Here (tonight's watch)

I seem to be in the minority here but I still have this this as one of those ones to watch. Luke Wilson has my respect...whether it is Idiocracy, Old School or this...scary I find time to watch a movie more than once in the home theater these days...

Always fun to see who I piss off...

Be sure to vote yes or no on the reviews as I will be publishing soon...thanks.

Skipper of the month - While She Was Out

Bad bad bad, hug that toolbox and make a movie...yahoo.

Recommendations for the week of May 2nd...

JCVD: Wow - the single best performance he might ever have.
Wedding Weekend: A light Big Chill update.

Thanks for reading...

Am going to find another way to get reviews to my customers; the Amazon way and the large volume of titles here at the site have both made for a little confusion on the part of those that look for what sucks and doesn't.
